The Fiji Police Force has activated its task force teams.

Director Chief of Operations Tito Elo says more than a hundred police officers have been deployed around the country.

“As of today, we have activated our task force teams. In each division we are looking at, two of 35 men and two of 30 teams team. These are the teams that go out monitoring the situations on the ground, for any assistance that is required, these are the teams that are deployed.”

The call has been sent out to the public to adhere to warnings and advisories and avoid risky situations.

Efforts are also being made by police to ensure that those still living in tents around the country are safe.
