Fiji Link plane that caught fire still being investigated

Investigation into the Fiji Link aircraft whose engine caught fire on Tuesday continues.

Executive General Manager Fiji Link Shaenaz Voss says the investigation into the ATR 72-600 engine issue is being conducted by Fiji Airways, aircraft manufacturer ATR and the Civil Aviation Authority.

Voss says the aircraft will be back in service once assessment and rectification are completed by their Engineering Team and the aircraft manufacture.

She says some schedules have been affected as a result of the aircraft being out of service.

Voss adds flights to Funafuti, Tuvalu and Port Vila in Vanuatu have been cancelled.

She adds Fiji Link is re-booking guests on the next available services to these destinations.
