Fiji Link now one of the youngest fleet in the world

August 15, 2018 9:51 pm

The Fiji Airways Group has welcomed its fourth brand new Viking DHC-6 Series 400 Twin Otter aircraft to the Fiji Link fleet.

This addition results in a significantly reduced average aircraft age, making the National Carrier’s domestic subsidiary one of the youngest fleet in the world.

It now has an average aircraft age of just 1.8 years.

Fiji Airways chief executive, Andre Viljeon says this is a significant achievement for a domestic airline of a relatively small country.

The Twin Otter can land on shorter airstrips and grass runways on islands such as Taveuni and Savusavu.

The new aircraft will enter the commercial service by September.
