Fiji’s relationship is important to New Zealand.

This was stated by New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Jonathan Curr while officiating at the signing of a grant funding arrangement with Fiji yesterday.

Curr says New Zealand has a stake in Fiji’s success and the $8.6m to assist Fiji’s economic reform speaks volumes of the ties between the two countries.

“So we’re really keen on Fiji’s success, we really invested in Fiji’s success, Fiji is really an important partner with us in the region and we are also pleased to partner with the Asian Development Bank and also to work closely with the World Bank and the other donors to be able to support Fiji’s ambition for growth.”

The grant is expected to support economic growth and create more space for improvement in Fiji’s private sector.

Curr says Fiji and New Zealand have a strong bilateral partnership.
