There is a shortage of registered surveyors in the country.
Speaking during 2nd global surveyor’s day, Fiji Institute of Surveyors President, Paserio Samisoni says this is becoming a major concern for them.
Samisoni says currently there are only thirty-seven registered surveyors in the country.
“There is a lack of registered surveyors and half of these thirty-seven surveyors which we have are over 50 years and some over 60 years and still working.”
He adds despite the shortage the institution is happy with the inclusion of female surveyors.
Meanwhile, Global Surveyors Day, celebrated today, was set aside to recognize and promote the contribution of surveyors and their profession in all aspects of life and the development of our nation.
