Fiji in need of cancer specialists

The Fiji Cancer Society believes having more specialists on cancer will help save more lives.

Fiji Cancer society president – Nirmala Nambiar says that every year, about five hundred people lose their battle with cancer.

“We need more help and we continue to get people from overseas who come in and help out the community but we don’t have enough people to look after cancer patients.”

The Health Ministry says Fiji’s Health system is still developing.
