Fiji implements five year strategic plan to combat Climate Change

Fiji will soon use the ecosystem as part of an adaptation strategy to help people adapt to the adverse effects of climate change.

Pacific Ecosystem-based Adaptation to Climate Change inception workshop was held in Suva this morning to help prepare a work plan on before the project starts.

Project Manager Sele Tagivuni says the government of Germany has provided financial support of 4.3m Euro for the five year program.

“The presence of so many stakeholders here, we will try to see and review a work plan if there’s a possibility on how to connect things and implement.”

The program will be implemented in two other Pacific countries apart from Fiji.
