Fiji-Germany partner in forest management

The German government has given about thirty million Fijian dollars for the forestry sector.

Minister for Forestry Osea Naiqamu says the 2 governments have worked together for 30 years enabling Fiji to improve forest and ecosystem protection.

-“This cooperation with the German government greatly benefitted Fiji forestry department where we have expert in sustainable forestry management come into Fiji, through this project in helping our foresters on how to sustainably manage our forest.”_

Following the success of the Fiji-Germany cooperation, other Pacific Island countries have also requested support in sustainable forest management.
