Fiji and other countries that are members’ of the Pacific Island Development Forum could learn a lot from the Sustainable Development Goals roadmap model that countries in the G7+ are implementing.

PIDF Secretary General Francois Mertel says he is impressed with how Timor Leste and the G7 plus countries are working towards achieving their 17 SDG’s.

“It’s not all about which ones are the priority once, but which ones you sequence in terms of priority and go on in Phase 1, Phase 2 andd Phase 3. I think it is a very, very wise approach instead of trying to do everything at the same time.”

The SDG’s were initiated in December of 2015 and are to be implemented by 2030.
