August 11, 2015 6:52 pm

The Fiji Cane Lorry Association national body has denied reports that it is supporting the Association Ba branch members or is with them to protest against the billitine trucks carting cane in Ba Lautoka and Labasa.

The Association National president – Jiten Kumar says at the moment this matter is under review when the Association members will meet with the FSC on this matter.

Kumar told FBC News that some three weeks ago the national body representing the branch members of Ba Penang and Lautoka met with the FSC after taking out a strike notice.

He says following this meeting the Association has withdrawn the strike notice and agreed to continue negotiation with FSC.

Kumar says there’s no problem with the Lautoka branch members and they have accepted the review which is to be further reviewed next week.

He says he has advised the branch officials not to make any public comment while this matter is still under review involving the billitine cane lorries – but Ba and Rakiraki branch has ignored his advice.

Meanwhile Ba branch official – Mukesh Kumar and Rakiraki branch president Satish Kumar could not be reached for a comment.
