Fiji and Singapore trade talks

Fiji’s Trade Minister met with the Singaporean Ambassador to the Pacific Verghese Mathews to discuss specific areas of cooperation.

Faiyaz Koya who was accompanied by PS Trade Shaheen Ali discussed growth of economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.

These areas include cooperatives and small and medium enterprise development, business to business initiatives and investment facilitation.

Koya says Singapore has a well-functioning and globally renowned Economic Development Board, which plays the same role as Investment Fiji.

He says cooperation with Singapore comes at an opportune time with the Government initiating comprehensive reforms and putting in place attractive policies for domestic and overseas businesses to take advantage of.

The PS Trade will lead a mission, with key agencies and stakeholders to Singapore later this year.
