Greenpeace says carbon pollution doesn’t stop at national borders, everyone is affected and the Pacific is feeling the most heat.

A report by Climate advocacy group Germanwatch shows Fiji among the top 10 nations that were impacted the most by climate crisis in 2018.

“For people like who stand to lose the very things that make us Pacific people. The degree of urgency is something we really trying to push through here at COP and one that world leaders, particularly from developed countries, can now fully understand.”

However, the report also shows that bigger and some of the most developed nations such as Japan and Germany are also being affected.

Moeono-Kolio says countries like Germany, Japan, and Canada, who think they can escape the impacts of their own excessive emissions need to think again.

“All countries are being affected by it now and you can that from the report. Japan is suffering a lot economically. So it will take quite a lot of work but the important thing to note is that developing countries are starting to understand what Pacific leader have been saying for a long time. It’s us at the moment but we will all be affected by this and it’s happening right now.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama arrived in Spain yesterday and is expected to be part of COP 25 meetings from today.
