Fiji and Kuwait to strengthen bilateral relations

Fiji and Kuwait are working on enhancing their bilateral relations in areas of interest to both countries.

Non-resident Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Fiji, Ahmed Salem Alwehaib and Minister for Defence and Foreign Affairs, Inia Seruiratu met and discussed this last week.

The two leaders spoke on possible areas of cooperation.

The Kuwait Government is keen on helping Fiji in terms of addressing climate change and oceans preservation.

Through the Kuwait Development Fund for Arab Development (KFEAD), they plan to provide assistance to the

Fijian Government to carry out the feasibility study of the Savusavu water and wastewater infrastructure.

The two countries also spoke about the importance of peacekeeping.
