Fiji and Japan signs air services agreement

February 27, 2018 6:30 pm

Fiji and the Japanese government yesterday formalized the amendment of the route scheduled annexed to the air services agreement between the two countries.

Minister for Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says this connectivity will help boost both economies.

“We’d like to encourage the Japanese tourists to use Fiji as a bouncing boat to other Pacific Island countries. I think it’s an opportunity for other Pacific Island countries to connect to Japan and Fiji does not mind being the facilitator of that and the point from which they can go to other Pacific Island countries.”

Sayed-Khaiyum says they look forward to more Japanese participation in Commerce, Trade, and Finance sectors in the future.

The Nadi-Narita direct flights by Fiji Airways will commence from the 3rd of July this year.
