The agreement was officially signed by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar and her Indonesian counterpart, Professor Dr. Yohana Yembise in Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday.

In the implementation of 3 year work plan, Fiji and Indonesia have agreed on five activities which will be monitored and evaluated by the Joint Technical Working Group led by the two Ministries and their respective diplomatic missions.

Akbar says the signing is an arena that will boost the socioeconomic opportunities for Fijian women.

The Indonesian Minister Dr. Yohana Yembise says Indonesia looks forward to providing increased support in the new areas of collaboration.
