Fiji and Indonesia form Joint Technical Working Group

Fiji and Indonesia have agreed to work on a three year development plan signed in Jakarta, Indonesia by Minister for Women Rosy Akbar and her Indonesian counterpart Professor Dr. Yohana Yembise.

The development plan calls for the monitoring and evaluating of five activities by a joint Technical Working Group led by the two Ministers.

The Joint Technical Working Group will see the annual review of the implementation framework.

This will be held in Fiji in June, 2016;

It will also see the Indonesian women in business council attend the Fiji National Women’s Expo 2015 which will be held in Suva from October 14th to 16th.

The plan also calls for Women Entrepreneurship Trainings and capacity building programs to be facilitated by Indonesia and the Exchange of “Experts of Practitioners” to enhance the status of women and children.

The Fiji and Indonesia Joint Monitoring and Technical Working Framework will be monitored on a quarterly basis from 2015 to 2018.

The development plan is to further strengthen bilateral ties in areas of women empowerment and child protection between Fiji and Indonesia.
