Fiji and Australia trade strong: Bainimarama

Trade between Fiji and Australia is strong and stands at $1.2 billion a year now.

Opening the new consulate general office at the Sydney Business District in Australia yesterday Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said Fiji’s partnerships with the Australian Government and Australian businesses are stronger today than they have ever been.

Bainimarama says this partnership has led to record flows of investment and trade between the two countries.

“_I am especially proud that our two way trade is now at around $1.2 billion a year has been driven by a 4% increase in Fijian exports to the Australian market as now Fijian products and businesses are expanding their reach._”

Bainimarama says Fiji is now well represented alongside major financial businesses and business partners in Australia after the opening of the new consulate office.
