Fiji Airways has welcomed Government’s support towards the soon-to-be launched Singapore route.
Finance Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, in his 2016 Budget address, announced an allocation of $18million for airline’s new flight service.
Fiji Airways Chief Executive, Andre Viljoen, says the significant trade and tourism opportunities that Singapore offers make it a viable location to expand the airline’s network.
‘’Fiji Airways serves 49 destinations in 12 countries; now we add Singapore and you can see how it grows to 50 destinations in 13 countries. You can see the expansion’’.
Fiji Airways maiden flight from Nadi to Singapore begins on April 5th next year, flying twice a week with return tickets selling at a special launch fare of $999.
Viljoen says the route is even more significant with Singapore set to host one of the 10 legs in the World Sevens Series in April next year, allowing local fans a chance a better chance of watching the rugby action up close.
