Thirteen passengers on board a Fiji Airways flight to Los Angeles in the United States who reported feeling sick earlier today, have now been released for flying.

It adds that they are aware that a number of the group was feeling ill prior to boarding and the remainder of the group became progressively more ill after takeoff.

Fiji Airways says it has no other reports of similar symptoms on any of its other services.

As per Health, Safety & Security standard operating procedures, the airline’s catering supplier in Nadi, has sent samples of on-board food from the Los Angeles sector for testing.

The resort in question has also been notified and requested to conduct its own internal investigation and tests.

The origin of the illness is still under investigation.

CBS Los Angeles reports, that the affected passengers reported nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
