Fiji Airports working with Air Traffic Officers to resolve issues

March 21, 2019 9:16 am

The Fiji Airports Limited says over the last couple of days they have held numerous meetings with Air Traffic Control Officers.

This is in light of the recent move by some staff to individually take various forms of leave which have resulted in a skeleton staff.

The staff say this is because they have pay and work-related issues that need to be looked at by the Fiji Airports Limited Management.

Executive Chair Faiz Khan says as part of their culture they have had at all times, doors opened to controllers for dialogue and discussions.

He says they are looking forward to working together with Air Traffic Controllers and having further discussions to hear any issues that they have with a view to a fair and equitable resolution.

Khan adds they will be speaking directly with the controllers rather than through the media.

Meanwhile, a Spokesperson from Fiji Airways says that schedules from Nadi and Nausori airports are not affected.
