Fiji Airports host children to a New Year’s treat

January 2, 2019 7:24 am

Children from the treasure house children’s home and St Mina children’s home from Nadi began their New Year with a VIP tour of the newly upgraded International Airport.

The Fiji Airports yesterday hosted thirty-nine children from both homes and treated them for lunch as well.

Spokespersons, Chris Chand says they hosted an eventful day for these children by utilizing the prize money they had won during the Prime Ministers Award last year.

“You know you could see excited faces of the kids on New Year’s Day and it was a surprise for them. Then we put them in the bus and brought them to the Fiji Airports swimming pool where they are going to spend the rest of the day and will be hosted for lunch.”

Chand says plans to host these children were outstanding since Christmas.

“So we decided that we will extend invitation and invite our family in the community which is the children from these 2 homes and it’s gratifying for us to see the smiles on the children’s faces and that gives us the greatest satisfaction.”

Meanwhile, Salome Pareti from the treasure house children’s home says children don’t chose to be alone and for AFL to step in and spend New-Years with them is a wonderful initiative to fill in what is missing in their lives.
