FICAC sought time to locate Lolesh Sharma

The Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption has sought for a further three months to locate former Sun Insurance Chief Executive Lolesh Sharma and serve him with the charge and summons.

State Counsel Sam Savumiramira informed the court that the Immigration Department has confirmed that Sharma has left the country.

Sharma has been charged with one count of attempt to undue influence.

It’s alleged that on or about 4th October last year, he attempted to hinder or interfere with the free exercise or performance of the political right of the employees of Sun Insurance Limited relevant to the 2018 General Election.

The matter has been adjourned to December 10th.
