The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption is investigating some allegations concerning the former Department of National Roads.

FICAC’s Public Affairs Officer Cegu Babana has confirmed that they’re investigating some matters with regards to what was the former Department of National Roads.

Babana says they cannot reveal details as yet because the investigation is ongoing.

FBC News had put questions to FICAC about allegations that a contractor was arrested, charged and subsequently bailed last week for allegedly defrauding the government of $1.6million.

FICAC didn’t comment on the specific case.
