The Fijian Elections Office has placed emphasis on the development of election education materials.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem while speaking at the launch of the FEO’s strategic plan says, this is part of their ongoing development program.

Saneem says the election education materials are expected to be incorporated to the various level of schools system.

He says promoting research on election issues is vital.

“Grant funding arrangements will be available for these exercises and they are working with the universities at the moment to pursue giving scholarship grants to master level program so that investigation can be done on election practices”

Saneem says the FEO will also introduce new design for the voter cards and expire the first voter cards that were issued from 2012 to 2017.
