The Fijian Elections Office will be conducting the final refresher training for over 10,000 election officials from next week.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says for this training, each election official will be paid $45 as an allowance fee for the three hour session.

Saneem says this will be an opportunity for officials to verify their details on the FEO’s system and also find out if their allocated polling stations have changed.

“This training will only be for those officials who have signed their contracts and so far since everybody has signed their contract, they are to attend this workshop as mandatory requirement. If you do not attend the refresher training, you will not be permitted to work on Election Day."

The Supervisor of Elections says its important officials attend the training as this will contain various directives that have developed since the first training was conducted.

It’s important that officials finalize they’re arrangements for working on Election Day and know the terms and conditions of their employment.

Saneem adds the official’s manual that will be handed out during the training will be returned afterwards and will only next be released to staff following the issuance of the writ.
