The Fijian Elections Office still has its doors open to people who would like to work as an election officer next year.

The first phase of training has already been conducted with more than three thousand officers.

FEO Supervisor, Mohammed Saneem says they would like to receive more applications from interested Fijians including teachers

“After the second round we would be in a better position where we have staff for every polling station in the country as at the date on which we are looking at it because there is ample time for us to train all these staff and then taking them through second round of training especially if they are qualifying for presiding officers and we will be able to allocate them to the relevant polling venue.”

According to Saneem the recruitment drive for teachers begins on the 27th of next month while the second round of recruitment for other applicants will be conducted from the 5th to the 15th of December .
