FEO receives indelible ink from Indian Government

The India High Commission yesterday handed over indelible ink to the Fiji Elections Office to be used for the upcoming general elections.

High Commissioner, Vishvas Sapkal says they are committed in providing possible assistance in the 2018 elections.

Sapkal says the indelible ink is worth more than two hundred thousand dollars and it’s packed in sixty boxes comprising of six thousand bottles.

“We have also given $67,830 cheque for procuring Mahindra SUV’s to Fiji Elections Office , those will be soon procured and that will also be used in the election commission, we are sure that our cooperation and sphere will be further strengthened”

Sapkal says India is assisting many other countries in promoting participatory democracy and election administration.

He adds India holds over 65 year record of conducting effective, transparent and credible elections.
