Some election officials who worked on Election Day are urged to update their bank details with the Fijian Elections Office in order to receive their pay.
Acting Director Strategic Development and Communications, Edwin Nand says it’s important that all staff receive their pay packages as quickly as possible.
Nand says they’re in the final stages of completing payments to all election officials who worked on November 14th.
”There are currently about one hundred and thirty-one bank accounts which are either incorrect or the accounts have been closed. Should the details be received at the earliest. The FEO expects to fully complete the payments of election officials next week.”
Nand revealed that nine thousand five hundred and ninety-five salaries have been processed.
”We also wish to point out that the packages for the election officials after FNPF deductions are as follows, pre-siding officers will receive three hundred and eighty-one dollars twenty cents, Assistant presiding officers – two hundred and ninety-eight dollars forty-cents. Polling day workers one hundred and sixty-eight dollars eighty cents and venue cue controllers- one hundred and fifty-five dollars ninety-two cents. This amount is inclusive of the allowance for attending the final refresher training before Election Day.”
Meanwhile, FEO is urging those with amended bank details to contact them immediately through their centers in all four divisions.
