Fijian elections office yesterday carried out a demonstration of the result entry for the 2018 general elections with political parties.
Elections Supervisor Mohammed Saneem says the purpose of the demonstration is to familiarize political parties with the process of data entry of the results and understanding the result management system.
Saneem says the result system is a very transparent one and they will be providing a 24 hour live feed of the results.
“In 2014 some parties came out and said that counting has stopped
but they did not look back to see that counting on going so this time we don’t not want such kind of false rumors to be started and as such we will be putting out live feed for the whole world to see that these things are already happening and are on-going.”
Meanwhile, he says the flush process has also been implemented post 2014 elections to make sure there is more clarity on the results that are being entered.
