Methodist Church of Fiji Spokesperson Reverend James Bhagwan is urging the journalists to use a lot more women players as their talents for sports stories.

Rev Bhagwan says it’s been noticed that female players are underrepresented in media.

He says women play an equal role just as their male counterparts and it’s important to make them part of news.

“For example, the Fijiana, the person that is interviewed the most is the Manager or the Coach which is predominantly a male which becomes a concern to us. So still the face of that sport is male.”

Rev Bhagwan was speaking during “Women in Sports Forum” in Suva yesterday.
