The Fiji Electricity Authority is using the Diesel Generators at Kinoya and Labasa to supply power to areas where the lines are intact and/or repair works are completed.

The FEA says their restoration priorities are in hospitals, water pumping stations, cities and towns and then the residential areas.

FEA officials did a helicopter survey of some of the main transmission lines yesterday, and is expected to survey other areas today as well.

The FEA is warning the public to treat all broken power lines as live and to exercise appropriate precaution by staying away and keeping others away.

Power supply has been cut to entire Viti Levu, Labasa, Savusavu and Ovalau.
