FEA teams continue work on restoring power

The Fiji Electricity Authority teams have begun work on major transmissions that sustained infrastructural damages due to Cyclone Winston.

Teams have started preparatory works to replace the two fallen towers on the Nadarivatu line which has cut off power supply from the Nadarivatu Hydro Power Scheme.

The Live line team from the Central Division is awaiting road works to be completed before heavy machinery, equipment and other materials can be transported to Nadarivatu.

FEA teams have constructed an access road to reach the Wailoa to Vuda transmission line.

A team of line mechanics expect to commence work on the construction of the temporary tubular pole structure this weekend.

FEA says a contractor has been hired and works on the Wainikasou Power Line will begin soon.

Twelve out of the two hundred and ninety six poles from Vuda to Rarawai sub-transmission line are down.

Planning and preparatory works has been completed and repair works is expected to commence soon.
