FDB and GGGI signs MOU

The Fiji Development Bank and the Global Green Growth Institute signed a MOU on Green Growth and Climate Finance Cooperation in Suva.

This partnership stems from FDB’s accreditation to the Green Climate Fund in 2017 as a Direct Access Entity.

Through the MOU, GGGI will provide interim technical support to FDB through the secondment of staff.

This staff will assist in developing Fiji’s first GCF proposal on e-mobility and strengthen Fiji’s stance on accessing critical climate finance through the GCF.

This partnership will be for an initial six months for the finalization and submission of the concept note to GCF.

During this period, the GGGI secondee will also provide on the job training to FDB personnel to develop the technical capacity for submitting more concept notes to GCF in the future.

Chief Executive, Mark Clough says the MOU strengthens the relationship between the two, to advance the Bank’s transition toward a model of green growth to achieve objectives.
