FCS undertakes road side cleanup campaign

The Fiji Corrections Service undertook a nationwide roadside cleanup campaign as part of its Civic Pride exercise for both inmates and officers.

Around 105 inmates with over 70 officers were involved from 15 Correction Centers around the country.

Deputy Commissioner of Corrections Senior Superintendent Apimeleki Taukei says this is one way they give back to the community by cleaning up the environment.

This is all part of the programs put in place as part of the annual Yellow Ribbon Walk scheduled for October 12.

The annual Yellow Ribbon Walk will now be held for the first time in the Western Division in response to the high offending rate experienced in the West in the last 8-months.
