FCS pays $100K remittance to the government

The Fiji Corrections Service has given more than $100,000 in remittance to the Ministry of Finance.

This is the first such return the FCS is making since the inception of its Trading and Manufacturing Account in 2009.

FCS Acting Commissioner Kameli Ratuvakalevulevu says the remittance is a historic achievement that reflects the value of teamwork.

Ratuvakalevulevu says the government provided $200,000 in 2009 for the TMA and they are glad to make a return as a result of the successful operations.

Under the TMA, the FCS operates an array of businesses such as joinery, garments, bakery, poultry, piggery and crop farming.
