FCCC to increase surveillance during busy period

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission will be mobilizing more staff during peak shopping hours to ensure traders comply with all regulations.

Chief Executive, Joel Abraham, warns they will be coming down hard on traders found guilty.

“We have found that people are using misleading advertisements, bait advertising to lure people in and try and just make money off them. These are some of the unethical elements and we will ensure that we will take them to the task.”

The Commission is expected to take five traders to court for non-compliance.
