Meanwhile, Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission officials conducted over 177 inspections yesterday and two shops were found in breach.

Chief Executive, Joel Abraham says these breaches were not related to price change but price information.

“The interest is common – we want consumers’ interest to be safe, we want consumers to have the correct information and consumers to be paying the correct price. That is why we undertake all these inspections to ensure that the monitoring is done. And we also call on consumers that if you find that people have been overcharging or withholding stock, please raise this complaint with FCCC and we will assist you.”

Abraham says they will continue the surveillance through-out this week.
