The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has partnered with Projects Abroad Fiji to develop robust engagement programmes.

This will raise public knowledge on consumer rights and responsibilities.

The partnership via a Memorandum of Understanding will see international volunteers with expertise in community outreach engaging in awareness raising programmes with the required assistance from FCCC.

Under the MOU, FCCC shall provide guidance to the international volunteers on areas requiring awareness, train them on the information to be shared with the communities and schools in particular and, provide promotional materials and other assistance as and when required.

Projects Abroad Fiji is a volunteer facilitating organization helping engage volunteers to create a positive impact in the communities.

As part of the MOU – they will prepare the international volunteers accordingly to ensure they follow the standard rules and procedures of the educational sessions.

FCCC Chief Executive, Joel Abraham says the collaboration will create a more informed and knowledgeable Fijian market – who are able to exercise their rights where needed, identify unethical practices and contact the relevant authority when required.
