June 13, 2018 5:02 am

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation’s 7pm television news is now the most watched in the country.

In a recent survey conducted across the nation by Australia based Pulse Insights more than seventy two percent of Fijians say that the daily 7pm news is their preferred news source on television.

Chief Executive, Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says this is a historic milestone for the company, which only started TV news in 2012.

Sayed-Khaiyum says up against the odds, FBC News has reached a new pinnacle in its short life span, over taking all others, including free to air and paid television.

“What we are really pleased about is the fact that FBC News on television is now – the number one TV News service in the country.”

FBC News has topped the market beating its competitor and has moved from zero percent to 72 percent in mere six years, which is classed as fantastic.

“A lot of people don’t realize this how well FBC News has done and FBC TV has done in such a short space of time to be able to take on competition that have been established and in a monopoly situation – to come in as new players in the market to not only become number one in terms of content and news but to also capture the majority of advertisers."

FBC News is broadcast live at 7pm every day and it is simulcast on Gold FM for the travelling public.
