FBC Street Party all set to go

December 31, 2014 12:34 am

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation New Years Eve Street Party is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

FBC Events Co-coordinator Serafina Wedlock says they expect hundreds of people to flock to My Suva Park in Nasese this evening.

“We’ve got 3 live bands – Soundwaves of the Pacific, Willie’s Nights and Jale Mareau. There’s dance groups in between featuring the Lei Dance Group.”

A fireworks display is also being prepared for the stroke of midnight to welcome in 2015 with a bang.

People will also be able to buy knick knacks at a car boot sale – apart from the usual confectionery and food stalls.

Since the Suva foreshore is off limits right now, FBC has also made arrangements for people who want to go for a swim. An inflatable pool will be set up at the park especially for the children.

FBC is encouraging families to come out in numbers since security arrangements have been made and police presence will be felt at the street party.

The FBC New Year’s Eve street party is an alcohol free event.
