The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation has today launched its own production house…. known as Studio 69.
This is a giant leap in FBC TV’s three years of existence as a recent survey has shown the company has now become the number one choice of viewers.
FBC chief executive Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says after assessing and ensuring that there are enough resources, the company has launched its own production house.
Studio 69 will be a one stop shop for TV production.
“It includes everything from church choirs, to bands, to music videos, to ads for business houses, to animation and a whole lot of other things so it’s quite a wide scope and we have the talent and the recourses to do it.”
FBC TV has also launched three new television programmes namely Devo ke Dev Mahadev, the X-Factor and international boxing – which will feature on Friday nights during the sports pogram.
There is also a new product called the Insomniacs, which started from the 1st week of this month.
Sayed-Khaiyum says a major talent drive will also begin from next week whereby you can send phone videos of any talent that you may have.
“If you think you are a great announcer, if you are good in front of the camera, if you are a comedian, you can talk to the crowd, you are confident and you able to do things and perform then we want you to be part of FBC and we will have auditions and this will be announced next week. We want people to send in their videos – it will be shortlisted and we will pick people from this list and make them stars.”
A recent survey has shown that FBC TV with its 95% coverage in the country is now the number one choice of viewers.
FBC TV’s new slogan is “You’re Number One with Us.”
