Father and son survive house fire

A father and son are counting their lucky stars after they escaped a fire which destroyed their house in Matawalu Village Lautoka, yesterday.

According to an eye witness, Mahi Pathak – the fire started after midday while the two were inside.

Pathak says the fire is believed to have started from the kitchen as smoke was seen coming from that part of the house.

She says they immediately alerted the two who were sleeping inside and called the National Fire Authority.

The house was engulfed in flames when the fire fighters arrived at the scene.

The NFA has how started its investigation into the incident.
