The Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy and Vodafone are working together to possibly extend the M-Paisa card for farms CARE for another month.
Initially the card was supposed to expire next Tuesday.
Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu says there is a need to extend the deadline as people are still waiting for their materials.
“The reason being some of the supplies are still unable to provide the materials and equipment whatever that was needed but we understand that they were overwhelmed because of the significant number of applicants and the different requests that came.”
Seruiratu says they have close to 30, 000 applicants.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Women Dr Josefa Koroivueta reiterates that there will be no extension to the M-Paisa card for Homes CARE.
