Farmers overcharged says FSC

February 4, 2018 5:50 pm

The Fiji Sugar Corporation says some of the cane farmers are being overcharged by private tractor owners who are being hired to prepare land for planting.

These tractors owners are also hired during the ratoon cane growth.

Chief Operating Officer, Navin Chandra, says this is one of the reasons why FSC is buying farm tractors that will be used by farmers.

Chandra says this will be given to farmers at a much cheaper price.

He says this is done to reduce the cost of cane farming and help farmers.
