Farmer sentenced for assaulting a policeman

A farmer from Sigatoka who assaulted a policeman while resisting arrest has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

Emosi Natove was found guilty of one count of serious assault.

The Court heard that Natove was drunk at the time of the offence, in June, last year.

Magistrate Jeremaia Savou while sentencing Natove said there was enough evidence of serious assault in this matter.

The farmer was represented by a Legal Aid Counsel.
