A thirty-year-old farmer from Kadavu has been charged with one count of found in possession of marijuana.

He was escorted by police from the island yestetday.

A team of police officers raided his house last month following a tip-off from a villager.

Police found 16.2 kilograms of marijuana in his possession.

The farmer has been remanded in custody.

He will re-appear in the Suva High Court on next Tuesday.
