One family has already taken shelter in the evacuation centre in the village of Ogea in the Lau Group.

Villager, Lily Moce, says the family who reside beside the sea were told to move to the Matuatabu Primary School, which is acting as an evacuation centre.

Moce says strong winds and heavy rain are currently being felt there.

She says a total of 129 families, who reside in the village have secured their houses and been informed not to go out to sea.
