A Nakasi family is in shock after their home was invaded by an unknown intruder.

The incident happened at around 1am yesterday when the family was asleep.

The intruder made his way into the house through the bathroom and walked away with jewellery and cash valued at $11,000.

Home owner Nilesh Prasad says the man was not armed and he used a ladder to climb through the bathroom window.

The matter has been reported to police.
