Family hopes to find son alive

The family of the fifteen-year-old boy who was swept away while trying to swim across the Waioli River in Naitasiri early this morning, is hopeful their son is still alive.

FBC News spoke to a family member, in Lutu village, in Wainibuka who says the villagers and the police team are currently searching for the boy.

The boy’s uncle says they have not lost hope.

Police had conducted an initial search with negative result.

The boy is the eldest in his family of five siblings and is a form five student at the Naiyala Secondary School.
