Faiz Khan has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive for Fiji Airports.

In a statement, as a matter of transparency and integrity on Khan’s part regarding the CEO recruitment process – he has subjected himself to competition from candidates who may wish to apply for the role.

Khan was appointed as the executive chair in 2013 at the height of planning the Nadi Airport Terminal Modernization Project.

He led the successful construction process to the completion of that project which gained world class recognition.

With the knowledge of the Minister for Civil Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Geoffrey Shaw has also been appointed as the new Chair for the Board of Fiji Airports.

Fiji Airports says in accordance with best practice, an executive search for the new CEO is being conducted locally and internationally through KPMG.

Meanwhile, the net assets or shareholder’s fund of Fiji Airports has increased by $240m.
